Today’s Gratitude Item: I am grateful that both of my parents are really good sports. They asked me to show them how to manually calculate square roots and gave it a good go. Was amazed at how quickly my dad picked up the concept. Now I know where I got my “math brain”. Thanks dad!

My brothers and I are known for being pretty good at math. So when people see my mother they’ll often make a comment to the effect of: Oh they must have gotten it from their father.
My mother majored in Economics. She doesn’t much appreciate the snub!
