Today’s Gratitude Item: Managing to finish the PowerPoint for our school prize giving on Wednesday night. It looks like proceedings will go on for quite some time and I’m wondering whether I should start a betting pool / sweepstakes to keep things interesting. Maybe we could bet on…

• The length of the principal’s speech
• The length of the chairman of the BOT’s speech
• The length of the guest speaker’s speech
• The overall length of the ceremony

At least the food afterwards will be tasty. Our hospitality teacher is catering the event and she used to be a chef. Whether anyone will be hungry after an overly long ceremony is an open question.
